(ENGLISH AHEAD) Hay momentos en que te ronda la cabeza dejar de pegarte cabezazos contra la pared y mandarlo todo a la mierda. Vivimos empeñados en convencernos los unos a los otros de cómo se debe actuar en el trabajo, en la familia, en la vida en general, y eso nos produce desazón y frustración a partes iguales. Pero ya es hora de dejar de comernos el coco y admitir que la gente no es tan fácilmente convencible, a pesar de que que los argumentos que usemos sean demoledores. Por eso, aunque en el fondo nos da igual lo que haga el resto del mundo, todavía podemos rebelarnos contra aquello(s) que, desde fuera de nuestras vidas, se empeña(n) en entrometerse y dirigirnos por un camino que no es el que hemos escogido.

Primer mandamiento de la rebelión: Haz todo aquello que te dicen que no hagas mientras estés convencido de que nadie sale perjudicado.

Segundo mandamiento de la rebelión: Repite el primer mandamiento tantas veces como te lo pida el cuerpo.

Estos dos mandamientos se resumen en uno: ¡Quiero más!

A Estereotypo les debemos la inspiración para seguir creyendo en la capacidad del rock para levantar los ánimos más decaídos. Esta banda de Santander se (nos) han puesto las pilas y nos han transmitido la energía para decir sí (y no) a muchas cosas... Por ejemplo, sí a mover el esqueleto. Yo no soy muy bailongo, pero escuchar el disco de Estereotypo sentado se me ha hecho totalmente imposible. Y no, a dejar de escribir sobre música en un blog que nunca sabes hasta dónde y hasta quién llega, por muchos gadgets cuentavisitas que le instales. A mí me da la impresión de que esta banda hace lo que le da la gana y se lo pasan de puta madre. Y, aunque parezca música de evasión, estoy convencido de que tras la estética industrial de sus monos de colores hay un trabajo, una dedicación y, sobre todo, unos principios sólidos que les van a llevar al éxito. Muchas veces, no es lo que haces, sino cómo lo haces (visitad su web para convenceros). Hay que darles las gracias por ese sonido tan potente y lleno de energía positiva que tanta falta hace en los tiempos que corren. No me voy a extender sobre si se parecen a esa famosa banda británica o si suenan como tal otro grupo de electrofunk. Hoy no, hoy solo quiero escuchar, hoy solo quiero más y más de, por ejemplo, su último single:

There are times when we think we better stop banging our heads against a brick wall and cry out "to hell with everything". We insist on convincing one another of how we have to deal with our families, our job and with life in general, and that causes anxiety and frustration equally. But it is high time we stop kicking ourselves and instead, admit that people are not so easily convinceable, indisputable as the arguments used for that purpose may be. For this reason, even though we don't care at all about what the rest of the world does, we can still rebel against those who insist, from outside our lives, on sticking their noses in them to lead us into a lifestyle that we haven't chosen.

The First Commandment of our rebelion: Do everything you are told not to provided you are sure nobody gets damaged.

The Second Commandment of our rebelion: Repeat Commandment One as many times as you wish.

These two commandments condense in one: I want more!

We owe to Estereotypo the inspiration to keep on believing in the ability of rock to cheer everyone up. This Spanish band from Santander have managed to lighten up our moods and transmit a full blast of energy to allow us to say yes (and no) to lots of things. For instance, yes to dance. I'm not really into dancing, but I must admit it is impossible to listen to their album while sitting on a chair. And no, to quitting writing about music in a blog that you never know who it is read by or where it ends up, despite all the followers/visitors gadgets you add on it. It looks like this band do as they wish and have a hell of a time. And, even though it may sound as escape music, I'm totally convinced that under their colourful industrial look, there lies thorough work, dedication and, above all, strong principles which will lead them to success. There are times when it is not what you do, but how you do it (take a look at their website to get convinced). We must thank them for their powerful sound that fills the atmosphere with positive vibrations in a time when the world seems to be lacking of them. I won't get into which popular British band they are similar to or whether they sound like this or that electrofunk group. Not today. Today I just want to listen. Today I just want more and more of, lets's say, their latest single.
