One of the things that is important is mainstream visibility, and [for the gay rock movement] Nirvana was a really important band. At that time, Guns ‘n Roses and Nirvana were the two big bands. And what a stark contrast you have: Kurt Cobain, somebody who was pro-gay, and Axel Rose, who just spews homophobia in his lyrics and comments. That was a really interesting divide.
Jon Ginoli, from Pansy Division

The struggle is not all about changing the world. There is also a struggle we all go through in all our relationships, particularly with the people we love the most. A struggle to maintain a relationship over a long period is as worthy of writing about as the struggle to get fair pay for everybody.
Billy Bragg
What we like most of the audience in our concerts is that it is very heterogeneous. Girls and boys, metal and thrash metal fans, indies, punks and hardcore guys or pop music fans come to our concert. It's something we love because we listen to a lot of different music and we very much disagree with the traditional music classification labels. That comes from business needs and as musicians, we like to escape those needs.
Esteban Jiménez, de Toundra
"But what does being Spanish mean? Being fond of bullfighting, talking loud and everybody at the same time? If that's being Spanish I do not wanna be, I prefer being colonized by a solvent country, able to manage finances and being a colony providing services such as serving paella and sangria"
César Strawberry, de Def Con Dos
"I still do not understand why people get to talk during concerts but don't do that in the movies or in the theater. I wish the public understood that this is a show from beginning to end, and that every moment is important, and if you lose two minutes talking to the person next to you, you might be missing the most important part of the concert."
Santi Campos, cantante de Amigos Imaginarios
"I think there's a lot of fear in music, and listening to music, and a lot of people not wanting to go outside of their comfort zone."
Neil Hannon, aka The Divine Comedy
